Linda Jankowska





Linda Jankowska was born on 19.10.1984 in Poznan. She studied with Prof. Marcin Baranowski at the I. J. Paderewski School of Music in Poznan, prof. Christoph Poppen at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and with prof. Jan Repko at the Royal Northern College of Music.
She won prizes at numerous national competitions among others at the Contemporary Music Competition in Warsaw / Radziejowice (Honourable Mention – 2003),
the 7th Z. Jahnke National Violin Competition in Poznan (Honourable Mention – 2004)
and international competitions - Competition for Young Soloists in Luxemburg (1st
Prize – 2000), Balys Dvarionas Competition in Vilnius (Laureate, Special Prize for J. Brahms’s Sonata – 2002). She perfected her skills at masterclasses with such teachers as Zakhar Bron, Gérard Poulet, Marco Rizzi, Detlef Hahn as well as during chamber music courses with Gabor Takacs-Nagy, Pierre Amoyal, Bruno Canino, Ana Chumachenco, Francois Guye.
She performed in Poland and abroad (in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, UK).
From 2007 to 2009 she was a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy, where she worked with Pierre Boulez and the members of  the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
In 2010 she took part in the International Ensemble Modern Academy during Klangspuren Festival, where she worked with Heinz Holliger and the members of Ensemble Modern.
During her studies at the RNCM she received a Professional Experience Scheme with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Linda is the member of Distractfold Ensemble.
Since April 2011 she works at the Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester..
