Marcin Tarnawski
He was born on 09.07.1985 in Duszniki Zdroj.
He started to learn the violin at the age of six, at the F.
Chopin State Primary Music School in Klodzko and later at the
W. Lutoslawski State Primary and Secondary Music School in Nysa
with Janusz Gajownik. In 2003 he started his studies at the
F. Nowowiejski School of Music in Bydgoszcz with Prof. Maria
Suwara and, after two semesters, with Prof. Marcin Baranowski.
During a students’ exchange, organised by Bydgoszcz School of
Music, he played Karol Szymanowski’s music in Toulouse, accompanied
by Monika Brzozowska. In 2005 he participated in the European
Philharmonic Orchestra courses in Austria.
He started to work at the Torun Symphony Orchestra in December
2006 and since 2007 he has worked at the Opera Nova Orchestra
in Bydgoszcz. In 2007 he won the scholarship of the Polish Ministry
of Culture and National Heritage. His interests include early
music, therefore he became member of the Illo Tempore Ensemble
of the Bydgoszcz School of Music graduates. In July 2008 he
took part in the 16th International Summer Course of Early Music
in Wilanow with Simon Standage.
